My story

Babiya Polk is the ideal advocate for business owners to manage their employee benefits. As a 13-year veteran of the Group Employee Benefits world, her goal is to develop strategies for employers, so they are confident they are offering a competitive and comprehensive suite of benefits for their employees. Concurrently, she assures the business owners maintain focus, compliance, and financial growth.

Babiya graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelor’s in Public Administration. In 2010, Babiya embarked on her career with Aflac, as an Independent Sales Representative, offering a full suite of plans including dental, vision, disability, life, critical care, accident, hospital, and cancer. “My mission is to be the one source that my clients trust for all their employee benefits. I tell my clients to call me (not a toll-free number) regarding any questions on their policies, claims, coverage, or billing. I want to get my clients answers and eliminate their frustrations. This is what I offer—’one call does it all’—and I am proud to serve my clients in this manner.” Throughout her Aflac career, Babiya has been recognized for her productivity and ability to train colleagues and agents. Ultimately, in 2020, she earned Aflac’s designation of Certified Broker and is licensed in 12 states, including Ohio.

Babiya discovered that her drive and passion to build long-term relationships was in complete alignment with The Collins Financial Group, whose mission is to serve alongside their clients every step of the way. Due to this mutual mindset, Babiya simultaneously joined forces with The Collins Financial Group in 2015 and offered Aflac products in conjunction with other Employee Benefits. Her expertise includes certification in enrollment platforms such as Everwell, WeCare, Navigator, EASE, and Form Fire. Since Babiya is progressive and always moving forward, she earned her Multi-State/Multi-Location Certification, Advanced Flex/Section 125/Flexible Spending Certification and Group Sales Certification. “We are continually listening to our clients and striving to improve the Group Employee Benefits experience. Therefore, we are excited to introduce technology which will provide our clients with a customizable employee benefits portal.”

Community is a key element within Babiya’s persona; therefore, she is a member of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) and HRACO (Human Resource Association of Central Ohio) where she serves each Association on their respective Board of Directors as VP of Diversity and Inclusion. Additionally, Babiya is a Board Member of the Eastland Preparatory School, and she also devotes one day a week to Dress For Success, where she serves as a Mentor. “I realize how meaningful it is to have mentors. In turn, I willingly invest my time in those who have potential and provide guidance and connections for them. My Mom always said, ‘Lend a hand, because it will always come back to you.’”

Throughout the past 13 years, Babiya’s journey has led her to this moment to reflect on and realize her impact on others. “Now, I wake up each day understanding and appreciating my purpose, the magnitude of my own voice and that my actions matter and have impact. I serve others and strive to make a difference.”  So, don’t be surprised when you meet Babiya, and she offers to show you, advise you and connect you—all for your betterment—and without expecting anything in return! Then, you will probably ask her, “Why are you helping me?” Babiya’s sincere response, “Why not, it is the right thing to do!” Babiya Polk redefines the standards and level of compassion, dedication, and service, which she delivers to her clients, each and every day.
